Jakarta, September 2019 – The Ministry of Tourism is striving to increase the number of Chinese tourists visiting Indonesia through Wonderful Indonesia Bali & Beyond Sales Mission in two cities, Suzhou and Nanjing. The Sales Mission will be held on 10 September 2019 at Suzhou Pan Pacific Hotel and continued on 12 September 2019 at Nanjing Golden Eagle Summit Hotel.

旅游部正在努力通过奇妙印尼在苏州和南京两个城市开展的巴厘岛和其他地区推介活动促进更多中国游客出游印尼。推介会将分别于2019年9月10日和12日在苏州泛太平洋酒店和南京金鹰珠江壹号酒店举行。

China remains to be Indonesia’s biggest market among other countries. This year, we are targeting 2,8 million Chinese visitors as part of MoT goals 20 million tourist. Last year, Indonesia received 15.8 million tourists from all over the world including China market that contributes 14% of tourist arrival. Moreover, the latest data shows that there has been around 1.051.569 Chinese coming to Indonesia from the period of January to June 2019, it increased by + 0,27% compared to the same period last year.

据统计,中国目前仍然是印尼入境游客的最大客源国。今年,旅游部的目标是吸引2000万国际游客,其中计划吸引中国游客280万。2018年,印尼共计接待了1580万来自世界各地的游客,中国游客占到入境游客总量的14%。此外,根据最新印尼移民局数据显示,2019年1月至6月,约有1,051,569名中国游客入境印尼,相较去年同期增长率为0.27%。

In order to achieve the target of welcoming 20 million foreign tourists by 2019, especially from China, Minister of Tourism, Mr. Arief Yahya, has launched top three priority programs. Those programs are: Ordinary Program (Branding, Advertising and Selling). Extra Ordinary Program (Accessibility, Hot deals, and Competing Destination Models), and Super Extra Ordinary Program (Border Tourism, Tourism Hub, and Low-Cost Terminal).

为实现2019年接待2000万外国游客尤其是280万中国游客的目标,旅游部部长Arief Yahya先生推出了三大优先项目。这些项目分别为:常规项目(品牌宣传,广告投放和产品销售)。升级项目(无障碍旅游、热门交易和竞争目的地模式)和终极项目(边境旅游、旅游枢纽和低成本终端)。

To compensate the top three main activities, the ministry of tourism prepares and develops tourist destinations for foreign tourists, namely: ten priority tourism destinations and ten branding destinations. The ten priority tourism destinations is infrastructure development programs in a new destination to welcome tourists in the near future. ten branding destinations is a tourism destination promotion program that is ready to accept foreign tourists.

为了弥补三个项目的不足,旅游部为外国游客准备和开发了新的旅游目的地,即:十个重点旅游目的地和十个品牌旅游目的地。十大重点旅游目的地是计划且目前已经开展并进行基础设施建设,在不久的将来对国际游客开放的新旅游目的地。十大品牌旅游目的地是旅游部进行的目的地推广的计划,现已经对国际游客开放。

10 priority destinations are Lake Toba (North Sumatera), Tanjung Kelayang (Bangka Belitung Islands), Tanjung Lesung (Banten), Thousand Islands (Jakarta), Borobudur (Central Java), Bromo-Tengger-Semeru (East Java), Mandalika (West Nusa Tenggara), Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara), Wakatobi (South-East Sulawesi), and Morotai (North Maluku). “Similar with Bali which have successfully attracts many visitors, these 10 priority destinations are being prepared to replicate Bali's success and projected to also attract many visitors”, Minister Arief Yahya added.

10 Destination Brands, namely Bandung, Jakarta, Bali, Riau Islands, Joglosemar (Yogyakarta-Solo-Semarang), the Coral Wonders (Wakatobi, Bunaken, Raja Ampat), Medan, Makassar, Lombok, and Banyuwangi. “We believed that those 10 destinations are the most prepared destinations in Indonesia to receive tourists, including Chinese tourists”, said Nia Niscaya, the Deputy Minister of International Marketing.

To strengthen market penetration, especially to China, in addition to ordinary programs there are also extra ordinary and super Extra ordinary programs. Extra Ordinary program is a breakthrough strategy that has been carried out in 2018, which consists of Incentive Accessibility, Hot deals, and Competing Destination Models. The Super Extra Ordinary program, is our breakthrough strategy for more aggressive tourism marketing that involve cooperation with neighbouring countries stakeholders. This program consists of three strategies, namely Border Tourism, Tourism Hub, and Low-Cost Terminal.

One of the strategies is “Tourism Hub”. Tourism Hub is a strategy that utilizes Singapore’s position as a hub regarding the accessibility (air and sea) and proximity to Indonesia. we hope this program could promotes destinasions as dual destinations between Singapore and Indonesia, especially Batam and Bintan.

Bali & Beyond Sales Mission is a concrete measure taken by Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism to enhance the integration of government and tourism industry, by doing business to business (B2B) promotional event, to increase product knowledge and introduce Bali & Beyond travel packages including tourism hub promotion program to Chinese market. “Although Bali is still the biggest magnet for Chinese tourists, however, the Ministry will keep promoting 10 Priority Tourism Destination (10 New Bali) and 10 Destination Brands as well as through tourism hub program, which offers its own uniqueness and with more diverse nature and culture to be experienced, explained Vinsensius Jemadu, Director of International Marketing for Great China.

There will be a strong delegation comprising of 9 travel agents specialized for Joglosemar (Jogjakarta-Solo-Semarang),Bali, Labuan Bajo (East Nusa Tenggara), Batam and Bintan, to promote their special deals. This event will also include media gathering, Indonesia tourism update, seller’s product presentation, cultural performances, and doorprize free tour packages to Wonderful Indonesia.
