来过Rainier&Co的朋友一定对店内大胆选用的带有强烈服装元素色彩与体现男性强烈英气的三幅男神作品印象深刻：凯撒大帝，大卫王，大力神赫拉克勒斯。着实成了大家品酒、定制的好伙伴

这周六，我们特别邀请了Rainier&Co的艺术策展合作伙伴一粲艺术 One Light Art 创始人李璨 April Li 为大家带来店内三幅作品的澳洲艺术家马修·奎克，主题为“奎克幽默｜慢生活” 《不朽的小人物》作品品鉴及分享会。

艺术家简介

马修·奎克 (Matthew Quick) 是《商业评论周刊》（BRW）评选的澳大利亚前50佳艺术家之一。他从小开始画画，并成为南澳大利亚大学(University of South Australia)最年轻的艺术系学生之一。毕业后，奎克加入墨尔本的Emery Studio，为力拓（Rio Tinto）、福斯（Fosters）、必和必拓（BHP）等大型企业提供过设计服务。

奎克的设计和广告事业蒸蒸日上，还出版了数部虚构文学作品。终于，在奎克35岁左右时，他重执画笔。全力投身艺术后，他渐入佳境。几年之内，他在70多个国家艺术奖项中胜出或获得提名，包括Sulman Prize, the Arthur Guy, the Glover, the Mosman, the Redland, the Paddington, the Albany, the Blake, the Black Swan, the Townsville, the Duke, the John Leslie, the Churchie 和the Prometheus等奖项。

系列作品《不朽的小人物》介绍

《不朽的小人物》用概念性的方法来揭示社会的紧迫问题，用讽刺和幽默的手法颠覆象征权力的图像。

雕像和纪念碑是奎克的灵感和母题，因为它们见证了史上多个帝国的兴衰，充满象征意义。优美的、骄傲的和带有民族主义色彩的元素使得他的作品十分动人。

Featured in BRW as one of Australia’s top 50 artists, Matthew Quickbegan painting as a teenager before being one of the youngest students to study art at the University of South Australia. Upon graduation Quick joined EmeryStudio in Melbourne, designing for major corporations such as Rio Tinto, Fosters, and BHP.

After a prosperous career in design and advertising and has published a number of fiction books, Quick returned to painting in his mid30’s. Since then he’s gone from strength to strength. In the last few years he has either won or been selected as a finalist in, more than 70 major national art awards, including the Sulman Prize, the Arthur Guy, the Glover, the Mosman, the Redland, the Paddington, the Albany, the Blake, the Black Swan, the Townsville, the Duke, the John Leslie, the Churchie and the Prometheus.

In his series ‘Monumental Nobodies’, award-winning Australian artist Matthew Quick utilizes a conceptual approach to reveal the pressing issues of society by subverting symbols images of power with irony and humor.

Statues and monuments were his starting point, as they map the rise and fall of Empires and with their conscious symbolism, they provide the foundation for a revisionist take on the notions of beauty, pride, and nationalism.

By replacing their crowns and thrones with ordinary objects, the aura of emperors and gods are demoting to powerless nobodies. Through ridicule Quick plays with their initial grand goals, querying their motivations and questioning the orthodoxy of accepted history.

自70年代以来，爱国者反导系统从未真正发挥作用，到90年代已经陷入困境。随着苏联的解体，指定的敌人突然消失。

五角大楼关闭了“爱国者”计划的水龙头，而它的制造商雷声公司、休斯公司和RCA公司，以及其他军工企业，都面临着惨淡的前景。幸运的是，科威特向伊拉克钻探石油，有点恼火的伊拉克入侵了科威特。

水龙头又打开了，从那以后就一直畅通无阻地流着水。价值超过510亿美元的“爱国者”系统已经卖给了世界各地急切的客户。疯狂的是，战后分析显示，尽管他们击落了自己的两架飞机，却没有一枚敌方导弹被拦截并摧毁。上帝保佑自由市场。

Around since the 70’s, the Patriot anti-missile system never really worked and by the 1990’s had fallen on hard times.

The Pentagon turned off the tap (or should we say faucet) to the Patriot program and its manufacturers, Raytheon, Hughes and RCA, and the other firms that comprised the Military Industrial Complex, were facing a bleak outlook. Luckily Kuwait slant drilled into Iraq to steal oil and somewhat miffed, Iraq invaded Kuwait.

The tap was turned on again and has flowed freely ever since. Over 51 billion dollars worth of Patriot systems has been sold to eager customers around the world. And the crazy thing is the post-war analysis revealed not one enemy missile was intercepted and destroyed, although they did manage to down two of their own planes. God Bless the free market.

凯撒大帝手中的Dry Martini 用上Gin及Vermouth调配而成，是经典的开胃鸡尾酒。看过007邦德的朋友们一定知道，想象独自一人，坐在吧台前，点上一杯Dry Martini，橄榄在酒杯中被放得巨大，邦德那句经典的“Shaken, Not Stirred”，向邦德致敬。

想起以前学拉丁语的时候，曾经读到，凯撒大帝身着古罗马袍子，镶金边的Toga，预示着胜利Invictus。在那时候，富人穿的是非常轻薄的羊毛和从中国进口的丝绸。来自Canclini的竹签纹蓝色衬衫，以及W.Bill的纯白Pure Cotton和高克重爱尔兰亚麻都是这个夏季不错的选择。

最让人感到惊喜的是，这个夏天，意大利顶级品牌Loro Piana旗下的经典艺术夏季亚麻Solbiati中的新贵ART DU LIN系列，3股加捻纱使手感结实而紧凑，富有弹性和质感。高克重，比起较轻的面料，是悬垂性更好的夏季西装的理想之选。

总的来说，希腊众神们度过了一段欢乐的时光(除非你被拴在一块石头上，每天都被啄肝脏)。但赫拉克勒斯却独树一帜。非凡的力量、勇气、聪明才智以及性能力都是他的特点。

他以他的12项工作而闻名。其中包括杀死九个头的勒拿九头蛇怪。他还在奥吉安的马厩里打扫卫生(这个活儿他也不喜欢，因为他要求报酬:他免费砍头，但不喜欢打扫……这就是男人,嗯?)但想象一下，如果他同时承担多项任务，可能会取得多大的成就。

On the whole, the Greek Gods had a rollicking good time (unless of course you were chained to a rock having your liver pecked out daily). But Hercules was in a class of his own.

Extraordinary strength, courage, ingenuity, and sexual prowess with both males and females were among his characteristics. And he worked too. Famously at his 12 labors. Including amongst them was slaying the nine-headed Lernaean Hydra. And a spot of cleaning in the Augean stables (this one he can’t have liked either, as he demanded payment: beheadings he did for free, cleaning not so much... men, huh?)

But imagine how much more he might have achieved had he multi-tasked. Then he might have really made a name for himself.

赫拉克勒斯手中的黄色鸡毛掸子代表了夏日的色彩，让我想到了我的夏季最爱Margarita，以Tequila为基酒，加入各种橙酒及果汁，辅以柠檬、薄荷等水果作为装饰。

Canclini的100%亚麻衬衫面料融入了多种平纹和细条纹的细节，为你的夏季注入不一样的活力。

In classical art, so many warriors are depicted going into battle wearing little but a helmet.The partial nudity of Bernini’s David’s is explained by the argument that he actually did have armor which was shed as he was unaccustomed to it and believed he could fight better without it. Which might come across as presumptuous, except by all accounts he was pretty successful in this case.

Contemporary accounts don’t go into much detail about his hair. But he seems to have had very nice curls.

在古典艺术中，很多战士都被描绘成只戴着头盔，几乎不戴任何东西的样子。贝尼尼的《大卫》部分裸露是因为他确实有盔甲，但盔甲脱落是因为他不习惯盔甲，他认为没有盔甲能更好地战斗。这听起来有些莽撞，但事实上他还挺成功的。

当代人似乎不怎么讨论他的头发，但他应该有很美的卷发。

大卫发卷的粉色让我想起来了在新加坡来福士酒店Raffles Hotel Long Bar所喝到的新加坡司令Singapore Sling。色泽艳丽，非常南洋风味。使用杜松子酒、樱桃酒、本笃甜酒、石榴汁和沙捞越的菠萝汁，才能制造出顶层细腻的泡沫，清爽可口。严崇文 1936 年写下的一张酒吧便签，至今仍陈列在莱佛士酒店的博物馆。“百万美元鸡尾酒”也是严崇文首创，Somerset Maugham 在短篇《信》中提及此款酒品后，同样享誉四方。

上图焦糖色与棕红色面料来自Marling&Evans的LOCKWOOD系列：该系列采用100%精细美利奴羊毛，由高捻度双股纱线织成，290gms。通过天然河水的清洗，使该系列拥有同类别其他产品的没有的柔软与舒适，而2ply的强捻织法使得面料本身抗皱性优于其他产品。高抗皱和强透气是商务绅士旅行的最佳伙伴，也是夏季非常棒的好选择。
