外国出行酒店小贴士

There are some differences between the foreign hotel and ours and those rules are needed to pay much attention to if we don’t like to get into trouble.

国外的酒店和国内的酒店有些不同。为了避免遇到一些不必要的麻烦，下面的勃尔泰小贴士要赶紧拿小本本记下啦~

01【Facilities & Services】设施与服务

Different form domestic hotels, personal items, such as toothbrush, comb and shaver, are not provided in foreign hotels. So you are suggested bringing those stuff by yourself.

国外酒店跟国内很多的不同便是，外国大部分不提供牙刷、梳子和剃须刀等个人物品，游客需要自行准备。

In America and most Europe countries, the cold tape water is drinkable while the hot one is not, and there is no electric kettle in the room. In southeast Asia and Africa, neither the tape water can be drink directly, nor the electric kettle is provided. When you go to these continents and regions, you can borrow it from the front desk or just prepare one before the trip.

美国、欧洲大部分国家的自来水可直接饮用，热水不可饮用；所以一般房间内没有电热水壶；而东南亚、非洲等国家的自来水不可直接饮用，也不提供电热水壶；游客可到前台租借或者自带小的电热水杯。

3. In other counties, plug and voltage are different from those of China, so you’d better check the details online and purchase some matching change-over plugs in advance.

大部分的电压和插头与国内不同，最好提前准备转换插头。

4. Pay TV is set in some rooms, which means if you want to watch it you should pay some fees for it. Please figure out the rule of charge before use it.

有的房间设有收费电视"pay tv”，使用前请了解清楚付费办法再使用。

02【About Tips】小费常识

One of the commonsense that should be known is how to pay the tip,or you will be considered impolite and ignorant. However, in some Asian countries, like Japan, South Korea and Singapore, paying the tip is regarded as rudeness. In Thailand, you must pay some money for the service provided, and 20~30Thai baht (4~5RMB) is enough. Remember that the tip cannot be given in coin, because coins are only for beggars, which means disrespect. In some European countries, though the is not asked to pay for the servant, the money has already been included in your account. However, in America, Canada and Africa, tip is absolutely needed!

酒店内的小费规则一定要了解清楚，不然被人鄙视或者索要会很尴尬. 亚洲国家一般不需要给小费，像日本、韩国、新加坡给小费反而会被认为是无礼的行为；泰国，必须付小费，给20-30泰铢即可，合人民币4-5元，不过要记住千万不能给硬币，因为在泰国旅游，硬币是给乞丐的哦，别人会觉得你对他不尊敬；一般来说欧洲国家没有强制要求一定要给小费，因为服务费往往已经算在了你的费用中，如餐费等，但美国、加拿大、非洲都需要给！

You should leave the tip for bellboys, cleaners and waiters. If it is needed, you should also pay for the service of the front desk.

一般需要给小费的人员是行李员、清洁人员、餐厅员工，视情况给前台小费。

Pay the tip before the waiter. Except that You’d better not leave the money under the pillow or quilt except the one for cleaners, or it may be taken away as a sum of tip.

小费尽量当面给，除了把给清洁人员的小费放在桌上外，其余钱财请不要放在枕头或者被子下面，有可能被当成小费拿走。

03【Others】其他常识

1. Before check in, make sure whether your room is smoking- permitted or no-smoking.

国外酒店住宿会分吸烟和不吸烟房间，入住之前请先了解清楚。

2. Alcohol is forbidden in some regions,especially in Muslim areas.

有些是不允许喝酒的，特别是信奉穆斯林的地区。

3. When taking shower, please take the under margin of curtain into the bath tub. If the water overflows and get the carpet wet, you will be asked for compensation. What’s more, personal clothes are not permitted to hang out of the window or on the balcony.

洗浴时请将浴帘底襟拉入浴缸内侧，如果不小心“水漫金山”，湿及房间地毯，也是要赔偿的；请勿将洗涤衣物挂在窗外或是阳台上。

04【Attention】注意事项

1. Bugs 有没有臭虫

Bug is a kind of pest that will make you feel itchy when it bite you. Recent years have witnessed the wide range of propagation of this small creature in Australia and America, whose tourism has suffered a great blow. Therefore, customers are supposed to have a thorough check on every corner of the room, including the beneath mattress, bedstead and night table. Light is the enemy of bugs. When exposed under the light, they run away and hide in some elusive shadows, like the gap between walls. So it is inevitably necessary to give your room a careful inspection and cleaning and make sure there is no bloodstain on the mattress that has been left after bugs suck the human blood.

臭虫是一种害虫，如果我们被它咬了，就会感觉非常痒。近年由于臭虫的大规模滋生，澳大利亚和美国的观光旅游业受到了极大的打击。抵达了入住的酒店之后，首先请彻底地检查一下床垫、床架以及床头柜的各个角落。臭虫一般都讨厌光亮，所以会躲在墙壁的间隙之类的很难注意到的地方，因此必须要多加注意。也请确认一下床单下面的床垫上有没有沾上臭虫吸血时滴落的血迹。

2. De-germing有没有除菌

Although the room looks clean and neat, it is not the truth actually.Maybe cleaner really dose a good job in the bathtub and toilet, however, in some circumstances, germs on the remote-control, electric switch and doorknob are ignored easily. So it’s better to wipe or scrub these places with de-germing detergent and tissues.

房间看起来很整洁，但很可能不卫生。房间的清洁工可能把浴缸和厕所打扫得很干净，但是在很多情况下，遥控器、电器开关和门把手这样的地方并没有除菌。所以建议大家快用除菌剂或者除菌湿巾来擦一下这些地方吧。

3. Air conditioner空调有没有坏

After checking in, do not forget to make sure whether the air conditioner works well. If you feel too hot or too cold in midnight, it is too late to call servicemen because not all countries have the same efficiency as Japan where servicemen are always ready to called for.

建议大家在登记入住之后马上确认房间的空调有没有坏。到了半夜，如果因为太热（太冷）醒来后，想要使用空调的时候才发现空调坏了那就太迟了。因为在国外旅游不像在日本那样，出故障了维修工人可以马上上门修理，所以如果问题发生了才想着要解决就为时过晚了。

4. Quilt covers被罩是否干净

Bed sheets and pillow covers can be washed frequently, but what about the quilt covers? According to Reneta McCarthy, a former manager of a main chain hotel in America, the quilt covers in hotel are hardly washed, and even some of them are washed only four times a year. So before lying down to relax yourself, you’d better taking off the dirty quilt cover and change a clean one.

虽然床单和枕头套可以频繁地清洗，但是被套呢？据美国主要连锁酒店前客房服务经理Reneta McCarthy先生所说，房间的被套很少清洗，有的一年内只洗四次被套。在床上随意躺下之前，还是先把脏的被套取下来,换上一个干净的吧。
