https://www.ntu.edu.sg/OneStop/OurServices/Insurance/Pages/Medical-Scheme.aspx

Dear Students and Colleagues,
As part of national measures for the early detection of COVID-19 cases in order to contain any potential community spread, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on 8 June that all students and employees of institutes of higher learning (IHLs) who are unwell with Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) symptoms such as cough, sore throat, and runny nose, will be prioritised for COVID-19 testing.
COVID-19 testing will be a key enabler of the government’s overall efforts to safely re-open after the circuit breaker. It complements the other safe management measures that have been put in place to safeguard the wellbeing and safety of students and employees.
If you are unwell with respiratory symptoms:
Employees are to visit a general practitioner (GP) clinic from the list of panel GP clinics by AVIVA that is participating in the Swab-and-Send-Home (SASH) initiative, so as to avoid potentially having to visit multiple clinics should a swab be required. A list of GP clinics under the SASH initiative can be found at the following website: phpc.gov.sg.
Students are to visit one of the selected GP clinics under Fullerton Group so that they will be covered under NTU’s Medical Scheme for students. They will then be referred to a SASH clinic where necessary. For a list of clinics on the Medical Scheme, please visit this NTU web page.
Please note that the Fullerton Clinic on the NTU campus is presently still pending approval from the Ministry of Health to be a designated SASH clinic. They are currently not yet designated as a SASH clinic.
If you are diagnosed with Acute Respiratory Infection:
Students and employees who are diagnosed with ARI will be prioritised for COVID-19 testing.
Those who visit a clinic under the Swab-and-Send-Home (SASH) scheme will undergo the COVID-19 swab test at the same clinic.
For all other clinics, the doctor will refer you to undergo the COVID-19 swab test at a polyclinic or Public Health Preparedness Clinic (PHPC) participating in the SASH initiative, or Regional Screening Centre set up by the Health Promotion Board.
Faculty, staff and students must inform the doctor that you are from NTU, and doctors will require proof of identity to make the arrangements for the test. In addition to your personal identification, e.g. NRIC or Work Pass, please note that you are required to bring along your staff pass, or your student matriculation card.
Staff and students who have been sent for testing will be covered by the Medical Leave issued by the doctor. No payment will be required for the swab test.
Staff and students who are awaiting your COVID-19 swab test results must not come to campus nor attend any face-to-face classes. Please remain at home (or in your Hall rooms), self-isolate as much as possible, observe good personal hygiene, and monitor your health. You must also remain contactable. Most results will be available within 3 working days, and the doctor will contact you about the results.
If you undergo testing for COVID-19:
Once you have been notified of your COVID-19 test results, you must immediately notify the University of the test results by email ([email protected]), or phone (Tel: 6513-2736, or 24-hour Security Hotline: 6790-5200 after office hours).
The University will advise you of any next steps once you have provided the relevant details.
Individuals who are deemed to be close contacts of an NTU student or employee who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be contacted directly by MOH. If there is a confirmed case that poses a risk of exposure to members of the NTU community, the University will notify those who may be at risk.
If you should become aware of the identity of a confirmed case, we urge you to please respect their privacy so they can focus completely on their personal health and recovery.
As we move into Phase 2 of the circuit breaker, we will need to step up our efforts as a responsible community to ensure our safety and health, and that of those around us. Please see a doctor immediately if you are unwell, especially if you experience respiratory discomfort and symptoms.
For the latest information, visit NTU’s Intranet page, as well as the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education websites.
Sincerely,
Ling San
Deputy President and Provost
