Marina Bay lights up with hopes and dreams as part of MBSC 2020

From tomorrow evening, the facades of the Merlion and ArtScience Museum will come aglow with light projections, joining The Fullerton Hotel Singapore in illuminating Marina Bay with hopes and dreams of our community. This is part of the Build a Dream initiative by Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2020 in partnership with the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NPVC) to support the SHINE Children and Youth Services, Beyond Social Services, Dyslexia Association of Singapore and Yishun Community Hospital.

The light projection on the facade of the Merlion will tell the meaningful story of our community’s shared experiences and the values passed down from past generations. Adapted from drawings and pastel artwork co-created by the elderly patients and volunteers of Yishun Community Hospital, the montage also reflects the volunteers’ hope for the elderly to age actively. Marina Bay lights up with hopes and dreams as part of MBSC 2020

The public can catch the nightly light projections on the Merlion between 8pm and 10.30pm from 29 to 30 December, and between 8pm and 11.30pm on 31 December. Marina Bay lights up with hopes and dreams as part of MBSC 2020Yishun Community Hospital – “A Community of Care” (left) and “Co-creating the heART” (right) at the Merlion; co-created by volunteer artists and elderly patients

Across the bay at the ArtScience Museum, visitors will be inspired by the light projection created from illustrations by budding artists from the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. They share their perspective of how people with dyslexia relate to the world, and their hope for Singapore to become an even more inclusive society, with consideration for people with different learning needs. Marina Bay lights up with hopes and dreams as part of MBSC 2020
