英语中表示“看”的词有哪些？

汉语中表示“看”的词有很多，比如瞧、瞄、瞥、瞪等，英语中也有很多词表示“看”的意思，我们一起来看看。

1、look

look at 意思是看着，强调的是“看”这个动作。

My friend looks at me without saying one word.

我朋友看着我，一声不吭。

另外，look for（寻找）、look after（照顾）、look over（检查）等词组的含义和“看”没太直接的关联，这里就暂不讨论。

look 在口语里还经常用作语气词，要翻译成“听我说”，比如：

Look， we have to go back home right now, the storm is coming.

听我说，我们现在必须得回家了，暴风雨快要来了。

顺便说一下，listen也可以这么用做语气词。

2、see

see的含义是”看到“，强调的是看到的结果，也就是说看到了什么，要用see，只是看着，就用look。

Mary saw her former classmate Jack when she were on the flight to Singapore.

Mary 在飞往新加坡的航班上碰到了她以前的同学Jack。

see还有看望的意思，例如：

Kids are so happy to see their grandpa in the old village.

孩子们非常开心去那个老村子里看望他们的爷爷。

3、watch

watch的意思是看一个具体的东西，如电影，电视等，强调欣赏的概念。

Children are told not to watch to much TV, but we know anything can't stop them watching TV.

都在说别给小孩子看太多电视，但是我们知道似乎没什么能阻止他们看电视。

watch还有”小心“或”留意“的含义。

4、read

read主要用于看书、看报、看资料等，强调看的内容的详细特性。

He's read many books since he join the READING CLUB.

加入阅读俱乐部以来，他已经看了大量的书。

5、glance at

glance at 意思是瞥了一眼。

She noticed that someone in the corner was glancing at her.

她留意到角落里有人瞥了她一眼。

6、glare at

glare at意思是生气地看着，怒视着。

His father glared at him for his bad performance in the exam.

知道他考砸了，他爸生气地看着他。

7、stare at

stare at意思是盯着看

She stares at her friend and laughs.

她盯着她的朋友，大笑起来。
