该币正面图案中央为黎元洪像，珠圈外上环镌中文隶书体"中华民国"4字，下环镌中文隶书体"开国纪念币"5字，珠圈外左右两侧有梅花图案;背面图案中央是竖镌"壹圆"2字，珠圈外上环镌英文"THEREPUBLICOFCHINA"(中华民国)，下环镌英文"ONEDOLLAR"(壹圆)。两侧偏下有五角星。此币设计美观，铸工精良，传世稀少，殊为珍贵。
