12月14日，2018年丘成桐中学科学奖颁奖典礼在清华大学蒙民伟音乐厅举行。清华大学原校长顾秉林出席颁奖典礼，清华大学副校长薛其坤院士，丘成桐数学科学中心主任丘成桐院士，中国科学院杨乐院士，美国哈佛大学威尔弗雷德·施密德（Wilfried Schmid）院士，美国马里兰大学林明洁教授，清华大学经济管理学院院长白重恩教授，相对论天体物理国际中心联合体雷莫·鲁菲尼（Ruffini Remo）教授，新光国际创投股份有限公司林皓昱董事长等出席颁奖典礼并致辞。

丘成桐中学科学奖在数学、物理、化学、生物、计算机、经济金融建模六个领域分别设置金、银、铜奖和优胜奖，以及跨学科综合最高奖——科学金奖，其中经济金融建模奖系今年首次设立。经过近两天封闭式的面试和答辩，来自北京、上海、广东等15个省市自治区及美国、新加坡的90支参赛团队决出61项大奖。
